Privacy Policy

KoboTutor is an AI-powered exam preparation platform for students sitting JAMB, WAEC and NECO. It is owned and operated by Nokvision Limited, a Nigerian technology company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC Reg: RC 1254400), based in Lagos, Nigeria. Nokvision Limited is the data controller for personal data processed through KoboTutor.

We collect: • Account data: your name, email address and password (stored hashed). • Study profile: exam type and year, chosen subjects, class level, target score and study preferences. • Learning data: questions answered, answers selected, time taken, topic mastery, mock exam results, study plans and streaks. • AI tutor data: the questions you ask Kobo, images of questions you upload, and Kobo's responses. • Payment data: your Paystack transaction reference, plan and payment status. Card details are handled entirely by Paystack — we never see or store them. • Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, used for security and basic analytics.

We use your data to: • Diagnose what you know, build your daily study plan and choose the questions you practise next. • Predict your exam score and show your progress toward your target. • Explain your mistakes through our AI tutor. • Process subscription payments and manage your plan. • Keep the platform secure and improve how it teaches. We do not use your data for advertising and we never sell it.

Many KoboTutor users are secondary school students. If you are under 18, you should register with the permission of a parent, guardian or school. We collect only what is needed to teach you and track your progress. No behavioural advertising is directed at any user. Parents and teachers can be linked to a student account only when the student shares their link code or class join code.

When you link a parent, or join a school class with a join code, that parent or teacher can see your study statistics: study time, questions answered, XP, sessions, badges, topic mastery, mock scores and predicted score. They cannot see your password, your private AI tutor conversations or your payment details. You can ask us to remove a link at any time.

Kobo's tutoring, mistake analysis and question generation are produced by third-party large language model providers acting as our processors. Your questions, uploaded question images and relevant study context are sent to them to generate a response. This content is not used to train their public models under our agreements. Do not upload personal or sensitive information that is not part of a study question.

We share data only with: • Infrastructure and hosting providers that run the platform. • Paystack, our payment processor, for subscription payments. • AI model providers, as described above. • Legal authorities where required by applicable law. All providers are bound by data processing agreements.

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active, because your mastery history is what makes Kobo's teaching accurate. If you delete your account, personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated statistics may be retained to improve the platform.

You may: • Access the personal data we hold about you. • Correct inaccurate data. • Request deletion of your account and data. • Object to or restrict processing. • Request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

KoboTutor uses essential cookies for login and session management, and privacy-friendly analytics to understand how the product is used. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Disabling essential cookies will stop the app from working.

We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords and row-level access rules so that students, parents, teachers and administrators only reach the records they are entitled to see. No system is completely immune to risk, but we take every reasonable precaution.
